Transient idiots start yet another fire on Dilworth

There's been several fires in the last few years in the Dilworth area that were started by homeless bums (this fire, the fire in Enterprise Park, the grist mill fire, the fire on the bike path between the cemetery and Omineca Place) . I thought there was supposed to be an effort to clear out these do nothing leeches from the area? I guess we just have to wait until someone's house burns down first...

That's the second time in two days. There was a tree on fire at the base of Dilworth early Sunday morning. Friend had to call 911.

Maybe we should put a committee together to teach some fire safety,
build a few designated outdoor cook kitchens where these men and women
congregate/live.

Get those fires into a CSA Approved system.

That should mitigate the hazards of inadvertently burning the town down.

this is obviously just a symptom of the homeless problem. Wait until Summer when its dry.

I consistently saw them violating campfire bans. Technically fires are not allowed within the city but not like they have cash to pay the fine.

Currently the spread of these fires are minimum, a number of months from now that will be whole different story.
If I was a resident on Dilworth this spring and summer could be very nerve racking.

A retardant drop from a helicopter or a water bomber would put a stop to this.

And the much needed shower and laundry service would pull off

As long as IHA keeps on supplying them with free needles and drugs, it will continue.
The other day on the local news, a CoK official stated its safe to pick up the needles. What was he thinking.

If they had housing they wouldn't be out cooking in the wild. Also there is no indication stating that this homeless person is a drug addict or anything of that sorts. While this is certainly an unfortunate incident, those who make baseless assumptions (about homeless people) are not helping solve the problem. Quite honestly you might just be getting in the way of help to solve the problem. Ever think about it that way?
