its going to be an interesting agm at KYC, where last year some members voiced their concern, regarding the very short lease on the restaurant and the incentives offered to the Cactus Club Company

Considering the TK building is on public land, yea, I kind of did pay for it. This was discussed long before the new yacht club was built, and the idea of the TK glass palace was first floated out so yea, it’s also on topic. As the OP eluded to, many were not sure the Cactus Club deal was the best fit for that space, and now those concerns are coming to fruition.

Can we please not reopen the TK box again? It’s like the Ark in Raiders...

How long was the Cactus lease in the Yacht Club? The spent a ton on improvements there, you’d think they would want to keep working that space?

They did just buy Rosies property right next door.

The article yesterday said they "acquired" the space not bought it so I'm sure they just signed a lease. I didn't see anywhere that the space was for sale. The Delta Hotel must still own it.

As for the KYC, although it's better for them to have a long term lease with a proven successful restaurant, if Cactus Club does leave they still have a turn key restaurant in an incredible location to re-lease. I don't see them having a problem getting a new tenant and jacking the rent up.

Whether it was a purchase or lease doesn't much matter the end result is the same.

They will either move the Cactus Club or open something else.

Probably the other way around - an upscale version of Cactus

Well I hope they keep some of the flavour. Cactus Club is too dressy for me. I just want to play pool and sit on the patio people watching.

Jazz isn’t a discount version of Air Canada, it runs routes with Q400 and Dash 8 to smaller communities. Rouge is the discount version of Air Canada just like Honda is to Acura.

Pretty expensive way to stop competition.

Probably will turn it into their Clubhouse. :runforlife:

Any idea what that space was rented for?? I'd say the rent was not below the Kelowna average and due to location, I think that might be why the move.
