Whether it was a purchase or lease doesn't much matter the end result is the same.

They will either move the Cactus Club or open something else.

Cactus has a number of brands under their umbrella. I agree it will be something else, most likely Local which they own.

Pretty expensive way to stop competition.

Very unlikely. The yacht club members were all in a tizzy when their membership fees went up when they went into the fancy new building. Despite the prestige sound of Kelowna Yacht Club, they were housed in a modest building that met their needs. The fees were not cheap by any means, but the people who were there were not the super rich. (Those people have their own their own lakefront property with their own docks.)

I bet there will be some emergency meetings going on and a lot of hindsight about the grand plans that produced the new facility.

My comment has nothing to do with the Yatch club and more to do with who owns the Cactus Club.

It's damn good thing none of these restaurants are depending on me for their business. Reason being I rarely eat out, if & when that rarely happens it's usually Chinese.

1. Cactus Club will move to a location with a landlord they can work with.
2. KYC will move their own canteen / restaurant into the vacated CC premises, renaming it to “We Burn Everything.”

I will miss sitting on the Patio of Roses
Meanwhile CC at the Club always packed, maybe they want more room?
Friend from the Forum and I spent many a lunch at Rose's... and they offered a damn good steak sandwich

Roses was great for stopping for lunch or dinner while out on the lake in the summer. Wet trunks was never an issue on their patio. Will be missed for sure. The best was when they had a public dock right out in front. The new public dock by the sails is real nice too. (Parking fees are outrageous tho). I hope CC isnt gonna get uptight when you want to have lunch in board shorts flip flops and a slightly wet shirt. At roses all were welcome. Not true at CC ive been too.

They won’t move their canteen down into the vacated premises. They won’t be able to look down on everyone from there.

No they don’t. Local is a brand under the Joeys umbrella.
