I believe Kelowna has more shelter space than homeless to fill them ?

The outdoor camp on Baillie Ave. across from Sunripe appears almost empty whenever I've looked so what are the actual numbers of homeless in Kelowna this week ?

49 less than last week is all that is certain. The plan of dispersing the homeless must be working if the camps are empty

I've been saying from the start that their solution is to move a portion of the population to Rutland. It all started with the absolutely unnecessary bus loop that they built on Dougal and Shepherd. It's still nearly completely vacant daily, except for a very familiar Ford Explorer that keeps delivering drugs to the "fake" awaiting bus passengers.

It's not just coincidence that the housing supports have been built near this bus loop as well. They are hoping it will encourage the homeless to travel this direction as well in order to reduce populations downtown.

Stay strong and keep fighting, otherwise you will be trampled on by the very private and secret city staffers who assume they know what's best for the city you have been living in for years.

I've been trying for hours to decipher what that means. Maybe you could clarify? Do you mean "to" where they came from or "from" where they came from. If you are saying "to" where they came from, I will take some serious issue with you and how you perceive rutland residents.

New supportive housing at McCurdy and Rutland Rd has only been open three days and I've see the Cops there twice already!

This may be a sign the neighbourhood will see good enforcement of the expectations, with problem people removed from the facility.

If the rules are firmly enforced from the get-go, that's a good thing for everyone - the neighbours, the staff, and the vulnerable people using the building. No one in or around the facility should have to put up with a resident who can't or won't be a good neighbour.

Thanks for reporting this Trixster & I hope other residents do the same when they see problems because this is why over 15,000 Rutland residents singed that petition in October of 2019.
Mental Health & others have had ample time to hand pick residents that would benefit from the services provided so why after being open 3 days have the RCMP attended twice already ?

It's quite a gig when there's no accountability ?

Since opening there are lots of unsavoury people who dont reside there hanging around the building and one fellow was screaming outside the main doors that he wanted to see his gf and staff did absolutely nothing ( obviously the gf didnt want to come outside and see him ) Wednesday afternoon and night was quite the treat to see and hear. Was welfare/disability day so it was parrrrrrrty time! Five days since opening and we are dealing with this :cuss: already!!!
