Re: Central Okanagan needs a new hospital.
Where will it be built ?
How long will it take ?
How much will it cost ?
Where will that money come from ?
How much will it cost to operate ?
Where will that money come from ?
Are there enough qualified staff to operate it ?
How many meetings will be had to plan it ?
How many protests will go on about it ?
Don't hold your breath.

Very true, especially once the actual final cost of replacing St Paul’s is known i.e Port Mann bridge final cost

Re: Central Okanagan needs a new hospital.
KGH was originally built on donated land.
Any new hospital would have to be built on purchased land at the taxpayer's expense. Just because it was built on donated land, that was located on the waterfront, means nothing.
The hospital or the patients gain nothing by the lakefront property, they are after all, mostly on the other side of the building and laying in their beds, face up.
Kelowna General Hospital was founded on philanthropy. It opened in 1908, on land donated by the Kelowna Land & Orchards (KLO) Company, with just 19 beds and has grown exponentially to meet the needs of an ever-expanding community.

Maybe the WIB would like to donate the land.

900 homes, an average of 2 to 4 people in each home, give or take.
Time to start planning a new hospital. Growth like this can not be sustained by KGH and someone has better stop pretending it can be.

Like I have said, build it in West Kelowna with enough space to triple it's size as needed.

Virtually guaranteed that Interior Health will build a new parkade in Kelowna before they build anything on the Westside.

impo bypass IH and have the voters of West Kelowna riding go directly to the Minister of Health and repeatedly request a hospital.

Re: Central Okanagan needs a new hospital.
Years late but sure, okay, But is it a HOSPITAL? How is it going to differ? Or is this going to be a bandaid solution, built far too small in the first place?

Re: Central Okanagan needs a new hospital.
I’d rather see an actual hospital for the residents of West Kelowna, maybe some day.
