You’re acute poster....not obtuse at all. As a straight reflex, I think you are also right.

Even though you cannot be all at the same time, I think those are all of the Angles amongst us.

Merry Christmas!! :130:

Actually, to be honest, I got totally weirded out when I first saw this thread because I incorrectly thought that you (damama55) passed away a year or so ago (noted on the board....I do not know you).

I think I got the name mixed up with a username with "farmer" in it. I forget the actual name.
Sorry for thinking you were no longer with us!! :admin:

No, I am not on the other side...yet. :) Hope I have a few more years, to enjoy this side.
I hadn't posted for awhile because I have been pretty busy, so I won't get too rusted up. Trying to keep active and involved helps.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate that. :)
May we all be a blessing in the days ahead.

When I got up this morning I was all bummed out. Then I read this story. It changed my attitude for the positive. Thanks for posting.

OT, who can forget your efforts to save a baby bird? And the generous donation of worms from Bsuds? You two working together to save birdie is heartwarming.

I'm glad you brought Farmmaa up. She was an extremely generous person with her horticultural knowledge and spent many an hour assisting people on line with their gardening questions and troubles. She gave generously where she could and is not forgotten. Rest in Peace Farmmaa. There is a thread dedicated to her in Announcements.

I also happen to be sworn to keep it a secret as to how NormaM is very generous. But remember. :D
Stay tuned for another episode of "Terrified of Trump's Base."

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. These stories really are touching. Thank you, too, for clearing up who the other lady was. Sounds like an amazing lady. My artificial plants die, so I could have used her valuable advice. :)
I have another story that really was a blessing when I was a single Mom of 5 little boys. Won't go into all the details, other than to say, it was a very difficult time.
A lovely neighbour and her husband allowed me to charge $200 worth of gifts for the kids, and it was beautiful!! I paid her back over a few months, and they were friends forever. I hope they got their mansion on the other side.
They didn't make a big fuss about it, it was just love for a neighbor in need.
Again, angels among us. :) :130:

Well I actually did it!! Yesterday at the Timmies drive thru in Westbank I paid for the person behind me. My coffee cost $7.00. I'll bet the women behind me was a happy camper. I laughed to my self as I drove away. Made me fell real good. LOL.

Thanks Queen - that was a nice thing to say bout me. Speaking of giving;
When I was little my Daddy worked with a bunch of men, mostly childless. That Xmas I got a total haul, probably over 20 dolls! Heaven. Then my Mommy said I needed to give some to children who had less. My thought was " sucks to be them" but I sorted, and sorted and decided which dolls and toys had to go to charity. And with a sad heart away they went.
A few years ago I saw the one doll ( a Pepsi pageant doll) go for a bundle on eBay!
Thanks Mom lol
I don’t care what they’re going to say. Let the storm rage on.

Just checked out that doll?? Might make you feel better that now there is one that is only $25. But, the one you had given away, probably brought some little girl a lot more joy than $25 worth.
So nice that you did that. :))

Dropped a cheque off at Penticton Food Bank this am. Evidently food banks are at or close to the top in charity efficiency? Around 93 cents/dollar goes to programs.

BEAUTIFUL!! Yes, for every dollar we donate, it is like a $3 donation because of their buying power.
I love, too, that stores donate all kinds of food and beverages.
Hope to read more amazing stories about the beautiful gift of giving a blessing.
May we all give, and receive, blessings beyond measure. :))

This is a poem I wrote many years ago. I think it's as fitting today as it was then.

The Otherside Of The Wall

How many times,
do we stop and think,
Of our good fortune,
do we give thanks?
We have food in our tummies, a roof over our heads,
How many people, even around town, don’t have beds?

We all are so blessed, to be in this time and place,
Wouldn’t it really be awesome, if we all showed some grace?
So, how many people could you help today?
Or, with your X Box are you going to play?

So, when we sit down to turkey dinner,
Are we going to gorge, and totally ignore the reminder,
Of folks, on the other side of the wall?
Well, we can’t really see them, after all !

I often wonder, if I were in their shoes, if I had any,
Would you help me? Or, would I just be one of the many,
You would pass, and never once, your eyes upon me cast?
Because, really! How dare I even ask!

Our lives, and our earnings, may not be just right,
But, when our deeds, on this earth, are all put in the light,
What do we say, to the folks, on the other side of the wall?
Oh, I’m sorry.
But, you see,
I didn’t see you at all ! !.
May we all be a blessing in the days ahead.

It was nice to come across this topic and read the stories of kindness.
Xmas usually brings out the best in people, but it is also nice to have that “giving Xmas spirit” all year long.

If the majority of people just knew how little a simple act of kindness can go....they would be amazed.

I thought I would list my favourite act of kindness to inspire others to put cheer in someone’s day.

- Purchase the car’s order behind you at a drive thru.
- Purchase a gift certificate at the til at a grocery store and leave it for the clerk that just rang up your order.
- Hold the door open for someone, you would be surprised how many people don’t do this anymore.
- At the car wash, leave a few toonies for the next person behind you.
- Smile... with so many people wearing masks those Smiles are far and few between, when that mask is off make sure you share that smile with someone.
- Have a conversation with someone. (Really easy to do, but is lacking in our society) Actually ask someone about their day and how it is going. You would be surprised that people will open up about their day and sometimes just need someone to vent to, or understand, or celebrate their joy or accomplishments. Get to know people, make a new friend. Easy enough to do at your local convenience store or favourite shop.
