Re: Cop transferred for pointing gun.
Women receive 60% of the jail time men do for their crimes.
Nobody wants to hurt a girl even when they screw up and kill someone.
I'm trying to imagine a world where me (male) draws a firearm on a co-worker because I was being slightly teased and then I have a bunch of people rushing to my defense and suggesting that the person teasing me "was asking for it".
Amazing!
We're already got people here on this thread trying to frame this as a #metoo thing as well!
This women needs to lose her gun and badge. Remember her name she will kill someone.

She's been given a second chance with stipulations and guidance. If something happens in the line of duty that is warranted this incident should not be used against her in a public witch hunt.Vacancyrate wrote:This women needs to lose her gun and badge. Remember her name she will kill someone.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

This incident should never be used as context, concerning her future policing actions?Fancy wrote: She's been given a second chance with stipulations and guidance. If something happens in the line of duty that is warranted this incident should not be used against her in a public witch hunt.
What the hell...?
I'd like to poll how many women are defending this woman.
Damn.

What happens when the mom insults start flying?Even Steven wrote:If her colleagues can make her draw a gun just by teasing (rightfully or not) about paperwork, imagine what seasoned criminals can do to her on a street.
She should not be on the force.
Paperwork teasing = draws gun
Mom insult = tactical nuclear strike from orbit (?)

PTSD is a clinical diagnosis, you can't just "claim" it, anymore than you can claim a broken bone.the truth wrote:well these days everyone claims ptsd,
And yes, you hear about it more often because trauma is better understood by clinicians, and slowly, the general public. In the old days people didn't talk acknowledge or understand their trauma. They just became alcoholics.

Yup. The stuff people pull on each other in these environments is usually so much worse than just teasing over paperwork. She will not survive if this is how she reacts.Vacancyrate wrote: What happens when the mom insults start flying?

Maybe she's more fit for work at Starbucks.

Re: Cop transferred for pointing gun.
The same thing happened to me at a certain armoured car company in Vancouver about 30 years ago. I was doing nothing wrong as I was driving fine and was one of the most requested drivers. We were stopped at a red light and he asked me to look at him while he was in the back of the truck behind the bulkhead. His sidearm was pointed at me through the gun port. He was laughing heartily at my reaction. I should have reported him. Afterwards he asked me why I always closed the gun port when working with him. I would remind him of what he did.

I mean throwing a hot coffee can still do some good damage.Even Steven wrote: Maybe she's more fit for work at Starbucks.
Maybe a job where she doesn't interact with the public at all would be better suited for her.

Re: Cop transferred for pointing gun.
lol - yes it WAS out of line and no question there. Anyone with firearms knows the rules. Just because it happens elsewhere and people get away with it doesn't make it right either but if mum's the word then so be it.oldtrucker wrote:The people on here that think this is out of line should spend some time in Nowheresville Canada and see what happens in small town bars when the townfolk get the cop drunk. I've seen a lot worse than this and no one lost their job or got in trouble
