Re: Freedom of Information Request to Cost $2000.00
I think they live in a different Economic Universe than most of us..
I give an example, say I was a person who often gave advice very important advice on certain subjects..
SO WHEN ASKED FOR ADVICE... I would say sure I will answer that , but I need 250 bucks for every answer...
That is what these people think like..
They forget they are being paid to do a job, and that on a heavy workload day, that they still get paid the same..
I think it's called salary.....not gravy..

I will ask for them on Monday
I don’t care what they’re going to say. Let the storm rage on.

Something does not seem right here. It almost appears to be a cover up of some sort.

About 100 people should all request the same information - be curious to see if there are cost differences

How is it freedom of information if you have to pay huge sums of money? Then its only freedom of information if you are rich

Make no mistake, that would be $200,000. Unless, a judge throws the book at them.

no, I mean 100 diff people ask, I wonder if each request the price changes.
Quick google search turned this up
"In BC, anyone can file an Freedom of Information (FOI) request under FIPPA and PIPA with no application fee. ... Fees are not charged for: the first three hours spent locating and retrieving a record; or time spent severing information from a record. This applies to both personal and general records."

Re: Freedom of Information Request to Cost $2000.00
The documents requested by a director should be free and not associated with any cost.
An earlier thread has already stated that initial costs are free.
Perhaps someone should advise The central Okanagan Regional District.\
Further to this, I have long advocated an oversight by the provincial government of CORD AND the CITY OF KELOWNA.
There is too many decisions being made that do not have the interests of taxpayers.
Remember the 100 thousand dollar lawyer bill that CORD spent on Vancouver lawyers concerning the BAD dog issue?
A lot of these elected and appointed officials (Gail Given for one) operate like a private fiefdom...A picnic shelter built by a contractor from Squamish would cause me to ask questions.
The City of Kelowna doing business with numbered companies should raise some suspicions.
Only a small segment of questionable activity see the light of day.
We do not have an active media to examine serious issues...Much goes unreported.
As an aside, interesting the new government in the U.S. is tracking the ill gotten gains of Russian oligarchs, some of which is being used to buy Canadian (maybe Kelowna?) real estate.
