Re: Black Mountain Land sale
the grassland on Black Mountain is 80% Russian Knapweed.
It looks nice from a distance as it greens up in the spring,
but there is very little grazing left. the deer used to like
the area that the golf course now occupies. I think the
deer have moved further inland.

Dag nab it.
There goes another prime motorcycle events venue.
Been eyeing up the old quarry up top as a perfect
spot for motorcycle sporting events.
Natural over-view terrain for spectators to see the entire track.
Low enough elevation for extended season that could support a series,
even to build toward conjunction with the rest of the Countries Series
for a true National Series.
Shame another piece of land goes to waste for such trivial pursuits.

Re: Black Mountain Land sale
It's kind of a non-issue to me. It was privately owned agricultural land, it continues to be privately owned agricultural land. If part of it is going to be used for an orchard, that's fine with me, but I find it hard to believe that all, or even much, of it is going to be used that way that high up. It's 1500 acres, fairly sure the new owner won't be deer-fencing the entire parcel, but if they want to, they're within their rights.

If they don’t want the trees totally mowed down in the first season, they will fence. Not much choice there.

Land Use and noise bylaws would never have allowed this anyway. Thank ****.

Right! No way in heck that land would ever have been used for public events like rodeos, monster trucks, motocross, etc.
