Indeed.
Sign me up for a couple of them.
After all what's $3,600 per month for a unit between friends.

+60k income required a year to be able afford the cheapest of units.Mrmarvingardens wrote: Rent prices range from $1700 to $3600 per month.
As far as $3600/month - how many households that are earning +200k a year are renting?
The payday loan business model comes to the the Kelowna rental market.

what kelowna needs is 1000 dollar apartments for its service industry and 15 dollar an hour manufacturing workers to live in. there is a whole lot of this city living on like 2000 a month or less. throw in the seniors living on canada pension as well. seems like you either have to be well off or smoke crack to be able to afford an apartment here

What happens if one can't make the rent, (due to covid/lay-off/business closing, etc) who has to pick up the slack? Who's name is on the rental contract?Even Steven wrote:One word - roommates.voice of reason wrote:there is a whole lot of this city living on like 2000 a month or less.

This thread: “How dare a developer offer brand new rental units in a nice neighbourhood across from the lake and not make them free!”

I was a landlord in Kelowna for over 20 years. You know who the first people I eliminated from any rental applicants were? One word - roommates.Even Steven wrote:One word - roommates.voice of reason wrote:there is a whole lot of this city living on like 2000 a month or less.

Lol nothing makes you happy.Vacancyrate wrote: Kelowna one bedroom apartments where someone sleeps in the closet.
- Living with roommates to afford rent - war-like conditions
- Borrow money to buy - fake economy
- Buy a smaller place to start - it's too small
- Buy outside of expensive areas - why should I move?
- Make more money to afford what you want - too hard to find a job
Unless govt gives you a SFH free of charge with a lake view, picket fence, 7 bedrooms - the moaning and groaning will never stop.

Well, you can do whatever you want, but plenty of people live like this, I've lived in my younger days in Vancouver and it was perfectly fine. That's how you live on a budget before you start making enough coin to afford a place and save for a downpayment. Nothing is wrong with that.Catri wrote:You know who the first people I eliminated from any rental applicants were? One word - roommates.
