Fuel Limits in Kelowna?
Re: Fuel Limits in Kelowna?
Fuel might be limited at some point ... or it might get more costly ... there are other solutions besides getting online and screaming into the void ...cv23 wrote: ↑Nov 26th, 2021, 8:34 pmI'm sure our resident cycling zealot obeys every rule of the road and all laws pertaining to the legal operation of what ever vehicle he may find himself operating on the road. I'm sure he is polite and courteous to all he encounters on the road. I'm sure he licenses, registers and insures at least one of his vehicles in order to legally operate it on the road. I'm sure he has a drivers license and renews it when appropriate in order to operate a vehicle legally on the road. I'm also sure he pays his fair share of property taxes. I'm sure he is a very honest individual..... and it all comes out of the same property tax bucket ...
For all his merit worthiness his one fault is obvious tunnel vision. He unfortunately must not look around while on the road and see that he is in the minority when it comes to cyclists in Kelowna. Fewer and fewer of his fellow cyclists obey even the most basics of laws and rules like wearing a helmet and not riding on the sidewalks. He must not see all the drug dealers, thieves and other basic dredges of Kelowna society on "their" (let's say the one they are presently sitting on) bikes. There is a horrible issue with stolen bikes in Kelowna, many witnessed and caught on camera. Surprise, surprise, these thefts are not being made by drivers or pedestrians. This ever increasing group now form a very significant portion of the cycling community in Kelowna and they DO NOT obey any laws, are rude, think they own the road and most definitely DO NOT pay any taxes let alone what might be considered their "fair share".
Enough on my part in hijacking a fuel rationing thread into something off topic.
You mean those who actually use the amenity would pay for the convenience of it's use? Sort of like the idea behind "USER pay" huh?The users who need to use the areas that are tolled at the initial price would pay more than those who can wait for the initial costs to be paid off ...

And fuel might continue to be as plentiful in Kelowna as it presently is because we're in close proximity to Alberta and Canada has the third largest oil reserves in the world ... Or it might get cheaper seeing the price of oil just dropped 13% yesterday.spooker wrote: Fuel might be limited at some point ... or it might get more costly ...
One thing that is reasonably certain is that as long as the NDP is in power tolls will not return to the Coq or any other highway ,even as a temporary measure to aid in financing a rebuild, as the socialists believe all British Columbians should suffer financial pain not just those who benefit from their use of a particular luxury.

Re: Fuel Limits in Kelowna?
........how can "Fuel Limits in Kelowna" end up with the usual "high jacker" on these forums telling us he WANTS TOLLS to come back and more? This person obviously NEEDS government involved in EVERY aspect of his life and will NEVER question it........in fact, he should donate more of HIS hard earned (maybe) money than telling everyone else to support his ideology over and over and over again.
