Personally, I couldn't care less what year, era or genre a tune is from...a good song is a good song is a good song. My collection spans from the 1920s up till the present day and encompasses everything from Classical to Heavy Rock and all points in between.

Went to the "Vinyl Record" Sale yesterday at the Ukrainian church on Coronation and Gordon. Went through 80% of the bins and walked out with ZERO. What I did notice was that in the two years since they had the show last, prices were UP on lots of the stuff. One Dylan album I found was $45 and a second of the same $40........both with some scratching, one with a pretty clean cover and the other beat up.........sorry, knocking $2 off didn't do it. Some of the vendors who have been around a while take pride and others seem to buy just about anything in any condition and hope to turn a big profit. There was the usual $2 or "cheap" bins with of course unplayable records.

.........makes me appreciate the condition I have kept my albums in.

You should have been at the Ukrainian relief fund raiser on Barlee, lots of vinyl and one guy was hauling out with a nice Elvis album when we got there. Also check out Pandosy Books.

What I consider great is the music that can be played live without the studio/effects and choreography. If you need all that to put on a great show then in my opinion your not worth anything other than 4min of fun maybe.

The reliance of Auto-Tune these days is a real turn off for me.

Call it what you want, Geezerfest, blue hair convention, whatever. The fact is that it is still going and looks like it will keep going for the future. The “young whippersnappers” however have ruined their chances at having an event tailored to them because of their bad behaviour. I guess they’ll have to wait until they’re geezers as well.
