If they put them on a beat patrol in the worst areas and our judicial system would actually hold them after arrest then yes it would help

For how long? How long can they be held, with or without criminal charges? There are time limits in our CCC.

What charges are needed to hold someone for how long......to help?

Reading that Kelowna is getting 43 new officers might sound good but I question these numbers as 23 are already here & the other 20 will will arrive in the next 90 days.
How many extra officers Kelowna will actually have in 2023 due to transfers & retirements ?
It's also amazing to hear that there are approximately 250 serious offenders the RCMP are supposed to deal with, I say that's an impossible task for them to handle unless the Federal & Provincial Government stop this catch & release program ?

Her death is reminding me of Austyn Godfrey,a crime never solved, who was found by the Glenmore dog park.

Same look. See her highly stylized look in several reports I can't bring forward here (rival news source)
Same high risk life style

And another one too, on the lower mainland,

Same look,
same high risk lifestyle. She was shot and killed, the man she was with was shot but lived and never named to protect him.

And now, a missing woman with with similar look and lifestyle is also dead.

Get photos of the three of them lined up and they'd interchangeable. Now why is that?
Regardless of who "wins" an election, they always are up against a Silent Elite. Do you believe the extreme poor who voted for Trump ever thought their non-profit support would be slashed right out from under them?

Oh don't forget paternity, maternity, training, illness real and other!

You might be shocked if you only knew how many are on the street at a given time.

Kelowna getting 43 new police?
Next on the list, "Kelowna announces multi million dollar expansion of police services building to house additional police"
Is this the latest P.R. exercise by somebody?
We already have 1 hundred thousand a year police officers not issuing tickets but wielding snow brushes removing snow from the lights of inconsiderate drivers, officers issuing long winded sympathy announcements for dead people.
What happened to law enforcement?

Stats not surprising.

Proliferation of crime when ex mayor was too busy picking out his pink shirts for COK YouTube skits.
Modern Monetary Theory

Today's Fascist Liberal $cience stealing money from future generations in effort to buy more votes - just easy Macro 101 stuff.

Very modern, very fascist, yet very virtuous.

A Liberal Sandwich they call it.

I'm with you if POLICE do not do what they are mandated to do you have no police. If this is the case these prolific offenders do as they wish and it is at that stage right now.

I just don't think the RCMP are doing it here. A retired member of their force said it, they have a store front and that is it. IF I was a criminal I'd settle in Kelowna and open up shop.

Sole rutland residence owners should’ve looked into the area before buying. Who would’ve thunk , multiple break ins to vehicles with all the wet houses in that neighbourhood.

the crime rate increase is because the thieves in this town regardless if they are addicted/ homeless have had yrs of zero repercussions so they know they have the upper hand and basically nothing is really going to happen to them. Recently in my neighbourhood it was a neighbour who is not addicted, homeless and actually owns their home that was caught stealing from everybody around us. From Amazon packages to christmas decorations, the dummy obviously didn't think that many people nowadays have cameras, personally I think things are going to get way worse because of this recession
