tell me where there is an apartment that doesnt have break in problems? it has nothing to do with rutland . the ones in glenmore are no different and the ones downtown are horrible . someone took a prybar to our back door and pried open several storage lockers just a few days ago . every thread turns in to a rutland bashing thread

It can be hard to research an area if out of province/country if one isn’t familiar with the names of the wet houses or local media.

I didn't say that nor imply it. You're hoping the roadblock and the police resources used are done for a giggle?

An RCMP Emergency Response Team is on the scene and police have set up a ‘hard block’ on Cactus Rd. between Jasmine Rd. and Monterey Rd.

Officers are canvassing the neighbourhood and using a loudspeaker to tell nearby residents to shelter in place.

They have been on the scene for nearly an hour and have set up a spike belt.

Along with several RCMP vehicles, there are two ambulances stationed at the end of Cactus Rd.

I would expect this isn't a misunderstanding.

I don't believe Kelowna can get extra Officers because there is a shortage of graduates coming out of Saskatchewan & even though RCMP Supt. Kara Triance has asked for extra staff she is contending with trying to operate with a 20% shortfall.
Weren't we told that when pot is legalized it would free up the Officers to concentrate on other pressing issues ?
That was years ago & what's improved ?
It's all a smoke & mirrors show that won't change because crime creates so much blue collar work.

RCMP can't afford to live here. They don't even want to get transferred here due to high rents. And who can blame them?

And when I say, "Let's hope it's all a misunderstanding" I am hoping it's someone with something that looks like a gun but isn't.

Lots of RCMP buy here (may not want to come here and look to get out again) as those with families tend to be here for years with kids in schools. As far as the gun is concerned, when someone has a toy gun I would have thought they'd exit the house hours ago except they do know they will be arrested.

I found a stash a month ago which looked like proceeds from apartment B&E across from Tim's at the Brandt Creek path. Turned it into the RCMP, about six small overnight bags. No idea where they came from as no follow up by them.
