Trying to reach a settlement.
Why is there a need for a settlement if innocent?
I'm not your enemy. We have a difference of opinion, and I can live with that. Can you?

the guilty prefer a settlement to jail time,

Not necessarily. The alleged victim often prefers a payout rather than risk getting nothing if the defendant is found not guilty.

WHOA, who saw this coming....the case against Basran is "stayed", meaning I assume dropped, unless something new comes up that would "likely" be successful.

Likely more like a settlement between him and the aggrieved party. Once that happens and they tell crown they don't want to testify anymore the crown case goes *poof*.

But that just a guess, who knows what happens behind closed doors.
The last time I won a prize at the fair everyone told me I was a winner, but really, the prize was crap, my wallet was empty and the only happy person was a Carney.

Don't empty your wallets to make a Carney happy folks.

Could see it coming from across the lake and on the connector. Unless bodily fluid was involved and can be collected as evidence, too much is circumstantial.

Curious how much this cost the former mayor in payoffs to have this squashed.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Payoffs, settlements, or other adjectives are simply conjecture. The fact is the public will likely NEVER know what REALLY happened for the case to be "stayed". Let the speculation begin! [icon_lol2.gif]

Whatever the outcome here, the bottom line is this useless and low IQ'd bag holder for developers is DONE!

If one of these "developers" hired him or he thought he could get elected for something it would be like the reaction "Bud Light" got to their MASSIVE advertising :cuss: -up and hemorrhage money. Everyone will stay away from him.
