You are correct on coyotes. I'd suggest a wolve as it likely is larger than the average guard dog, it would go one on one. In saying that wolves hunt in packs as well.OhMyDarlin wrote: ↑Feb 6th, 2023, 8:27 pmCoyotes will send in a lone female to draw out a guard dog at a farm. I wonder if wolves do the same.
Have you seen any signs of wolves in your area?

Is this the couple in question?

Growing up in northern Saskatchewan I spent a lot of time in the outdoors. I have an eye for wildlife and see it even when driving down the highway and it is in the fields in a distance.
I cannot say I have ever seen a wolf in the wild. They are very elusive and even in captivity they will be watching you, and you have to realy look closely to see them as the lurk in the bushes.

Years ago when I was driving on Hwy 33 towards Rock Creek I saw one as I was going around a corner.
It was standing on the rocks right beside the Hwy.
Not sure who was more shocked, him or me.

They are spectacular to see and hear. I’m always watching for sign and never go anywhere without a camera. Unfortunately if one is driving it’s usually too late to get a photo. Time for a dash cam.

places named after the wolf up in WH and then further North
And then you had some wild folks trying to breed Wolves with their dogs
Currently the estimated Wolf population in BC is 8500
Tourists thought our Malamute was a wolf .
Fields was a very large boy - 101 pounds of ice cream loving fun

If it was directly in front of you then that would work, but not so much when they are off to the side.
As well as this was way before dashcams were a thing.
My dashcam records in 5 min increments which make it really fun trying to find that moment in time. lol

Get a bigger flash card that will hold 15 mins or even 30 mins. View that card on your computer for easier searching. Keep an extra card in the glovebox so that you can save it longer.

That would be cool. We once saw a actual cougar, mountain lion on that highway and it too, was fast to disappear. It did stop quickly take a look and then gone!

Saw a grizzly bear along there as well - before cell phones unfortunately but still a great memory.
