I can't remeber the owner's names at this moment. I do remeber some of the questionable history of some like;
The Penthouse
The Cave
Shaggy Horse
#5 Orange
Blueboy
Dufferin
ther was another one on Main St. next to the rail station.
Back in the days when beer was .10 glass, black ashtrays, red terry cloth table cloths on round tables. and a salt shaker.

which is a soccer club
He also had night club holdings and investments in hotels ... I believe he was involved in Sneaky Petes

Where in Vancouver did you grow up Crazyolme? You Know alot about the area. I thought the #5 Orange was a night club thou. I was only there once as best I can remember. Those days are a little foggy. The Shaggy Horse was a gay club, I think it was near Davie St. I am from Richmond.

Shaughnessy Vancouver's "grand old neighbourhood."
The old beer parlours and strip joints used to bring in live music in the day and were like a club but were open from 9 or 11 am till 12 or 2. They had different hours than the clubs.
#5 was a great place, remember it well
Never heard of the Shaggy Horse but then did not frequent too many gay establishments. Do remember one on Pender a block up from the old Woodwards that was a blast to go to.
Richmond had a club down by the bridge to the airport that we used to hang out at ... it was upstairs from a marina outlet. Do you remember it?
Of course there was the Arms, which had a lounge, beer parlour and club... most of the great bands used to play there.
Downtown Van there was the King of Clubs, remember seeing Sunny and Cher there LOL

Oh, the Luv-a-Fair.
Nights filled with Disco, dry ice billowing across the dance floor and lovely gin and tonics.
