Victoria's sewage treatment
https://www.crd.bc.ca/project/wastewate ... nt-project
Seems the bitumen proponents want to turn the KM/TM pipeline thread into a thread about Victoria's sewage, so I thought I'd post a link to the project. Anyone want to add anything, or compare sewage to bitumen here?

Already been done elsewhere, and it's been pointed out the damage, and ongoing damage, is far worse than many are making out.
Apparently it's even been documented on video from what I read.
Here's an excerpt from Smurf's post in the Pipeline thread......

Here's an excerpt from Smurf's post in the Pipeline thread......
Diver and commercial fisher Allan Crow said areas near the sewage discharge pipes are full of sick kelp, polluted scallops and layers of thick sediment — which he has filmed and documented.
He said the decades of dumping have created changes in the ocean, including dead zones, over the last 10 years.
He and his group, the Victoria Sewage Treatment Alliance, spent years advocating for treatment, and they weren't alone.
Washington State residents have long been frustrated with the practise, and in 2015, the Seattle Times published an editorial calling for a boycott of tourism to the city.

I would like to add that those that seem totally cool with flushing their human waste into the sea should shut their pie-holes when it comes to needlessly and stupidly fear-mongering about the KM Pipeline.

Re: Victoria's sewage treatment
Well, according to Mr. Floatie who is a Victoria resident the sewage can be harnessed to create energy much like the bitumen.

J Turdeau is seen here contemplating the problem. You have to watch closely to spot him.

Is anyone cool with this? Surely one issue we can all agree on is that flushing raw sewage into the ocean is a bad thing?

It's safe to say no one is cool with it. It's just that the irony of the topic, is the level to which it is downplayed, by most of the same people, so vehemently opposed to the pipeline "possibly" contaminating their "pristine" waters, when their turds have been doing so for decades.
I guess some of us simply have a different view of what "pristine" is.

Re: Victoria's sewage treatment
The rules require municipalities to do secondary treatment to remove not just solid waste but also dissolved organic material. The worst offenders have until 2020 to comply. Municipalities that were doing some water treatment but didn't meet the new standards, have until 2030 or 2040.

The sewage issue is a City Council issue, not a Provincial Government issue.

From 2016 - it's started okay? Flamingfingers is right, it's a city council issue, not a Provincial one.
Slated to be finished in 2020.

and the KM pipeline is a Federal government issue, not a two unelected turds running our Provincial Government issue.

That article is from 2016 so is it really still on track?
I got the impression location was still being disputed, and that by flaming's own post.

That would be check and mate I believe.
I just love it when their own logic backfires.
