Notley is allowing her Big Oil bosses to ruin that province. Truth be told, the Alberta electorate who put her in office are very disappointed that she reneged on the environmental promises she made during her campaign. It's only the loud, aggressive UCP supporters who crowd these threads with their venom.
Shes gonna go down as thevworst premier of all time for alberta. Worse than Don Getty. Worse than Allison Redford. Notley Destroyed Province NDP.
Cut the fire budget just before the Ft Mac fire. Passed the hated bill 6 communist farm act. Passed a thieving carbon tax. Pushed a bs progressive agenda on a population of working people. All that before she attempted to revive the NEB by communizing the TMX
There will be a special place across the river Hades for trash like Notley. Only good thing she has done. Beat the snot out of Horgan.[/quote]
That remains to be seen. Notley will lose that battle, and she and Trudeau will both be working at McDonalds next year.

Nice to see someone smart enough to toss the little orange book. Ms Notley is the only glimmer of light in the NDP

I only can take credit for the last sentence, but if you think Notley is a 'glimmer of light' in the NDP, you've been living like the proverbial mushroom......kept in the dark and fed a steady diet of manure.

Bigjohn69 wrote:The National Energy Board has approved a TransCanada Corp. pipeline project that will move natural gas from British Columbia into Alberta, despite the opposition of local energy companies and concerns of the Alberta government.
In a closely watched decision Wednesday, Canada’s pipeline regulator announced it would allow TransCanada to build its $1.4-billion North Montney Mainline pipeline project and, controversially, flow the natural gas it would carry from B.C. into Alberta.
In an ironic twist, the pipeline from B.C. has also attracted the opposition of the Alberta government, which is hard at work trying to win support for Kinder Morgan Canada’s Trans Mountain pipeline expansion to B.C. However, Alberta’s energy department has said its concerns with the project are unrelated to its dispute with the B.C. government.

Wow . The games they play in Alberta.
Im willing to bet. This story was never covered by the province or global
Alberta’s recent objection to a new $1.4 billion pipeline from the northern B.C. gas fields is just the latest intrusion into a northern economy still staggered from cancellations of liquefied natural gas projects and threats to kill BC Hydro’s Site C dam.
The frustration is particularly close to the surface in the Northeast, which has the only oil and gas projects working in B.C. – those five projects a far cry from what was expected just two years ago.

So. Let us,look at this situation . We have on one side a pipeline to enrich a,texas oil company. That wont produce that many jobs long term for bc . And on the other a,canadian companys pipeline that will produce a,decent amount of jobs for bc gas sector opposed by a canadian govt in alberta.
Interesting situation i would say
Here's the latest on the dire straits of northwestern Alberta residents due to a natural gas shortage. If Notley weren't such a selfish tar sands bitumen pusher, she'd buy some of that northeastern B.C. gas that's going to be exported to Asia. That woman keeps biting off her nose to spite her face.

Also, why don't those northwestern Albertans start investing in renewable energy? Does the wind not blow and the sun not shine up there?

The smart Albertans are installing wind turbines and solar panels. They're also producing geothermal energy by utilizing orphaned oil wells. The remaining Albertans, the ones who read only the CAPP, UCP, and AB government newsletters are unaware that their province is so far behind that they think they're ahead.

We actually agree on this. Time to punt out Notley and let the adults take over.

What makes them "smart"? Because the wind turbines are generating a steady diet of eagle and hawk for their dinner tables? No one "smart" invests in either of these loser technologies, they build them for the steady diet of government cheese. And then they go and build a coal plant to supply actual energy. Solar and wind are just plain stupid.

Some people on these forums like to throw that word "stupid" around a lot, and it's always aimed at educated people who know that diluted bitumen is one of the cheapest, dirtiest fossil fuels of all, and is exported to the US to be refined and sold back to Canadian consumers as fuel for their automobiles and heat for their homes. Only 'stupid' people would want to produce more of it.
If Alberta and Saskatchewan have no more conventional oil, it's time for those multinational oil corporations to move to another country. I believe some of them already have. That's why there are so many orphaned wells for smart Albertans to use to produce geothermal energy.

There is no natural gas shortage. Do you even read what you post. They don’t have the infrastructure to deliver to the growing community....big difference. As a matter of fact Alberta is sitting on a surplus. Some of the power plants have been asked to burn their generators on NG (for free) instead of coal to help reduce the surplus.

*removed* Nowhere does it say that here's a shortage of NG in Alberta; only that there's a shortage in northwestern Alberta. If you consult a map, you'll see that those folks in northwestern Alberta who have a shortage would be better off bringing the NG from B.C.. But would Notley agree? Of course not. She would rather die than cooperate with B.C. on anything. She is such an old crone. Sure glad she's not B.C.'s Premier. She'd sell her soul to the devil just to please Big Oil, same as Kenney.

Yes I did but you clearly like to mislead people. You clearly stated “here’s the latest on the dire straits of northwestern Alberta residents due to a natural gas shortage”. Which clearly the article is not stating....

no, it's aimed at stupid people that can't do math, and so blather on about how they want everyone to starve and freeze to death because they are irrationally frightened by petroleum products. These people aren't "educated", they are crazy.
