Yup, seen the new link.

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia - A massive pipeline explosion in British Columbia risks cutting off the flow of Canadian natural gas to Washington state, and companies are urging customers to conserve.

Is BC the only place they can get gas from? Don't they have plenty of their own gas?

Something about free trade agreement from way back. Same goes with BC's water. its an agreement. and its BS

And as I read many of these posts I have a reoccurring thought that is "these people are legally entitled to vote?".

this explosion and the attitude from the company of "we will get to it soon" is precisely why the KMP was set back. if there is spills it seems like companies want to shrug off their obligations and make their own lally gag timeline to clean up.

FortisBC now says that it could take a month or two to get the pipeline fixed. If we get a good cold snap in November, it could take longer, and some people at the end of the line (Washington, Oregon, and Vancouver Island) could run out of gas.

Apparently there's a LOT more to this incident than we're being told. Replacing a section of pipe doesn't take months.

LOL ok but this is not a oil or gas spill and there is nothing to clean up;; just a corroded section of pipe to replace

how remote it is shouldnt matter. the priority is the environment that has been affected. and the loss of service to customers who will be affected. the utility companies have engineered that their service will be interrupted for lack of payment on time. thus they have a captive consumer on retainer that pays month in and month out on time. even when they go to the utilities commission and get the captain obvious rate raises.
thus they have an obligation to the consumer to get on top of things come hell or high water. the consumer deserves this. and there shouldnt be threats that services will be affected and tell people how much they can use. especially when there is pipelines that are running straight across the border to the US or on boats to asia. there isnt a shortage at all. its just the consumer stream that is affected.

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean, but if you don't take out your Mom's garbage and mow the lawn, she may just punt you onto the street.

Glace?? Really?? Replacing a section of three foot diameter pipe that ruptured in the wilderness does take months to mobilize the assets required. This pipe is not beside a Hwy.
And if one takes into consideration the revenue loss the pipe owner is losing from this, they would also understand how quickly they are trying to get it repaired while still jumping through all of the regulatory requirements and safety protocols.

And arsehats like burnedstake are vibrating with glee at the prospect that people might not have heat if we have a cold snap in the next month just as long as the pipe owner loses money. This kind of person is a virus to society and I wish I could cut of his heat.
