I think it's all going to come down to that Libertarian strong hold, protection island. Do they have phones there, or am I going to have to wait up for the row boat to get across the bay?

the mcdonalds theme is playing in my mind - because im LOVIN it! NDP = #winning. and they were elected in nanaimo no less. guess people who hoped for a liberal win in nanaimo know how i feel here - in the west kelowna liberal enclave. you can hope - but its a foregone conclusion.

Unbelievable, a real upset in the making here. 93 of 111 polls reporting and the Vancouver Island party has pulled ahead of the Libertarian's by a solid 12 votes. (*refresh*, *refresh*, *refresh*)

I can't believe people of Nanaimo are so brain dead as to vote the NDP in! :swear:

Drip's Nanaimo election abacus is now calling the upset official. Robin Mark Richardson's Vancouver Island Party is expected to top Bill Walker's Libertarian party with at least 11 votes. The popular vote break down is .47% vs .41% with a 92 percent certainty, 14 times out of 15.

Well, that's a wrap from Drip's election headquarters. Wow, I haven't been this excited about an election in Nanaimo... (oh wait, sorry that should have only been one period.)

Wow, who would of thunk it. BC Liberals lose a by-election!!

The NDP candidate, Malcolmson, had more than 49% of the vote. There goes any hope for the BC Liberals regaining power and continue the malfeasance of 17 years, the theft of taxpayer's money by the deceitful practices of the BC Liberals. The BC Liberals who will go to any length to line their own pockets at the taxpayer's expense, of course. :D

The only telling stat from this by-election is that greens are a fickle bunch, jumping ship from their party to support the NDP. So much for all the manufactured outrage over environmental issues - despite Site C, despite LNG, despite a rigged-to-fail PR referendum, they supported the NDP. It just goes to show that the far left is a bunch of stoned hypocrites, with zero power of conviction. Or, they are just plain stupid, which is essentially the same thing.

Looks like crazy is an asset on Vancouver Island.

Sounds like they were organized... And there were enough of them to win the vote.

Right wingers win and it's democracy. (Even if the Russians hack the voting machines)

Left wingers win and it means "crazy" has set in.
