Money Laundering Investgation Collapses

Money Laundering Investgation Collapses

Postby Catsumi » Jan 9th, 2019, 10:08 pm

Well, there goes a pile of B.C. Taxpayers money on a four year investigation of an Asian $ laundering operation washing One Billion annually into casino chips and Vancouver real estate.

So, are they able to continue on, without police harassment and pesky investigations?

Sounds like money talked.

So we have no say in what happens in our casinos or RE market. As long as drug money can be washed and used to buy RE.
Here I thought there was nothing lower than a snakes belly in a rut in a ditch. I was wrong.

If you read the article you will see it was the Federal prosecutors office that screwed up. Who would have thought?

Much handwringing and excuses. Meanwhile, taxpayer sheared again, sheeple-like.

I do not believe every eff up is an eff up.
Seriously, might be conspiracy stuff, but in this case, that's what I believe.

I agree. With that kind of money floating around freely, for such a long time with no action taken until this "failed" attempt at justice, someone had to be collecting bucks to look the other way.

Stranger still, imo, is that the whistle blower could have been placed in a type of witness protection program (a la USA) and given a new identity and a few shekels for his services to the Crown.

I think there is going to be hell to pay for this massive blunder in fouling up the biggest case in Canadian history against the drug lords and their "bankers".

sounds like that.

I do have to agree that "oops" seems like too much of an oops here. At a billion I can see at least one person in the right place taking a cut. Whether it's for the story or to rat the informant out who knows but really seems plausible doesn't it.

For a few million I'm sure we could get a lot of people to say Harper had sweet sweet hair.....so.....

We owe so much money to China that they are free to do whatever they please & nothing is going to happen - as we've just heard.
I believe organised crime has become so large it runs Canada & I don't believe this was a mistake at all ?

Our Federal Government gives away 100's of millions in aid to Foreign Countries & yet won't give the RCMP funding to investigate crimes that effect our economy ?

I've lost my faith in our whole legal system.

How so? It was a mistake to provide the information with the informant's name not blacked out but it seems that's all that it was - an oversight with all the large volumes of digital files released to Matthew Nathanson. Is it worth someone's life?

What are you trying to say? You haven't said anything regarding the ineptness of anyone yet. As far as the time frame is concerned, it's well noted you don't understand why some cases take as long as they do and some cases takes years from beginning to end. It's not like this is the only investigation everyone is involved in.

So, back to my original question.

Now that the case has been flubbed will the bankers, drug dealers and money laundering through real estate go on unchecked?

If so, we might just as well admit we live under the rule of China.

If not, that means another few years of illegal operations going ahead while another expensive investigation is launched. Who knows if a glitch will bring another "failed" case.

We the peeps have been sheared and royally stuffed.

Don't you think filing a civil forfeiture action against Silver, Qin and Zhu is a good thing?

Matters not what I think or you for that matter. Nothing can be salvaged now and to me it appears that the defendants are free to go ahead with operations as before.
