Money Laundering Investgation Collapses

the operation is virtually shut down if u care to read all the news releases regarding the Chinese money laundering deal
how ever the king pins got away with no charges and the civil penaltys are a pittance compared to their wealth

however based on the length of time they had these scum bags under investigation all the while allowing them to launder multi millions of dollars is poor poor policing

If successful there goes the 2.5 million dollar home and 2 million in assets. Beats nothing.

Again, you seem to misunderstand what an investigation entails. You expect the police to march up to them and say stop doing that?

Anyway, in the great scheme of things a 2 m house wouldn't even cover a portion of legal costs and investigators time. Just not worth it so the perps might as well carry on.

I'm done. Just wanted to bring this sad affair to your attn and not get involved in endless hairsplitting.

I'm not interested in misinformation. The investigation has ended with a stay of charges. Doesn't mean the criminals can still get away with future laundering.

I don't see the point of generalizations when we are referring to a specific case. How is it ineptness (lack of skill or competence) regarding what could almost be called a clerical error?

I don't think this is over, maybe something else has come to light that requires "regrouping" so to speak.

It is amazing how Revenue Canada will threaten the :cuss: out of someone who makes a HUNDRED dollar mistake on their income tax return and pay more than the mistake in penalties...…….or else.

what I don't understand is how suddenly stopping the trial makes it safe for the informant. If the criminals know who the informant is won't they still go after them for what information they have already provided???

There's no indication the criminals know the name of the informant.

Why would the criminals need to know? Could be just their lawyers. You still haven't said what the ineptness was.

Ineptness= incompetent · unskillful · unskilled · inexpert · amateurish · crude

Investigation has been ongoing since 2014 allowing (with full knowledge) multi millions of dollars to be laundered and in the end they have the charges stayed

TOTAL INEPTNESS ON POLICE AND CROWN :130: :130: :130: :topic:
