wow.. is there seriously empathy for a drug dealer here.. yes the cop was wrong.. so friggin what.. end result is that he (the drug dealer) is free to do it again. well, at least there's 27500 less pills out there, and the dealer has to probably do some explainin' to his bosses..

Absolutely no empathy, I would rather have a conviction. Police actions made that impossible, instead the criminal walks. Reality is this isn't dirty harry, there are laws the police need to work within.

You think its necessary to call in a drug dog every time a cop smells cologne or sees 2 cell phones?

You probably believe a guy driving with 27,000 pills was speeding too.

Cue in the drug dealers are not that bright comments

Maybe not that bright but lots of dirty $$$ to get great defence lawyers :smt045

You wouldn't need to spend much on a lawyer with such poor police work to get off those charges.

Speaking of not that bright - the dog handler was the one that pulled the drug dealer over.

Sure hope that the Judge ordered the Crown to return those 27,500+ pills to that fine gentleman so he could continue to live his lifestyle :200:

Fentanyl mover walks free.....

https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/247537 ... walks-free

We really need to look no further than ^*%% garbage laws, lawyers & Judges like this to see why there are so many opioid addictions and deaths:

In a voir dire prior to the trial, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Michael Brundrett found the search violated Rigo’s Charter rights, calling the drug dog’s sit confirmation “ambiguous and not sufficiently objectively reliable… so as to justify a search of the vehicle.”

He determined Cpl. Catellier lawfully detained Rigo and had the right to conduct a search of the vehicle with Doods, but found the drug dog’s “alert” was not strong enough.

What the hell - the guys charter rights were violated because the drug dog didn't sit quite how the Judge would have liked?????

:200: :dash: :swear:

We are flushing our money down the toilet building any kind of supportive wet housing etc to keep junkies alive when there are laws, defense lawyers, and Judges like this ridiculous combo walking the earth in charge of things!

Why do the cops even bother????

Multiple/several cell phones are more than two. And yes, I'm on the same page as the judge believing the dash cam that confirms the guy was speeding.

Those asinine laws come from the law makers out of Ottawa. If you are PO'ed take it up with MP's across Canada.
