So insightful. Thanks so much for your recommendation. I would have never thought of that. You are truly very smart. I'll get right on that.

Absolutely no empathy, I would rather have a conviction. Police actions made that impossible, instead the criminal walks. Reality is this isn't dirty harry, there are laws the police need to work within.

imo there are to many laws that they have to work within, thats the real problem

If the police suspect something then do it by the book i.e to the letter of the law (so the judges can't throw it out).

So it is airtight for the crown attorneys to get a conviction (lazy policing needs to end)

Meanwhile voters of this country need to give the law makers an earful (Federal, those are MP's), to fix the justice system in this country.

The Judge in this case blamed the drug dog for a failed "sit" because the curb was in his way..... can it get anymore batpoop crazy than that?

I am getting sick of my tax dollars going towards all these wet drug houses to keep the druggies alive while the laws, defence lawyers, and Judges play hide the brain cells and let stuff like this be allowed to happen.

Maybe a damn tax revolt is in order and a few hundred thousand emails to our liberal representatives for proper law reform. As Justin himself would say it's 2019! WAY WAY past time for Canada to get rid of the laws that were enacted in the dark ages that allow a sitting Judge to makes such a mindblowingly stupid, stupid decision.

Then again, when do the politicians ever listen to us - best thing I guess, for me anyways, is just make sure your "X" doesn't go beside a Liberal until they WAKE UP and make some changes. If they are as smart and worthy of running this Country as they seem to think they are, they should be able to get on this without us having to write letters - or don't they ever read the news and see the stupidity themselves?

Oh, and I voted Liberal ---- since they are the only ones who can change & reform & update our laws and legal system, and by ignoring what's going on they apparently thinks it's all hunky-dory, seems I made a mistake in judgment. I usually learn from my mistakes....

If those laws are within the Constitution, they are not going to be changed anytime soon or easily.
Look into last time anyone tried to change something in the Constitution, and storm that resulted.

I started this thread because I personally really believed the judge errored in large fashion. I read the report and I see nothing that this cop did that was wrong he stopped the guy the guy had drugs they found the drugs and arrested the guy its the court in BC that brings charges not the police so obviously the prosecuting attorneys office of Bc also thought they had a drug dealer dead to rights this judge in my opinion is a moron

The judge did his job properly , if you want convictions get the police to do their jobs properly as well.

then i guess i can assume that IF the cop did everything right, the judge did everything right, but the dog stuck out his tongue in the wrong direction, that this POS would get off again.. yes i know its the constitution.. but its f'n wrong!

Police forces in this country need to make a shift change, from 100% arrest record to insuring as close as possible a 100% conviction record.

Added: this can be done, it means police officers doing the job they are paid to do. Doing so within the law.

Well obviously....bad dog, no biscuit. As for the judge, a promotion would be the expected consequence.

Too bad the dog didn't get a chance to give the dealer one big tooth hug.

Make the Judge & MPs take a lie detector test & ask if drugs are a problem ?
