Flu shot should be free?

Read this letter to the editor.

Correct me if i am wrong but I thought it was free.
I haven't paid for a flu shot in years. Got mine at Safeway in the fall and there was no charge.

I recall years ago i would have to tell them the reasoning. Required to visit my Grandma at her nursing home if i didnt want to wear a mask.

So. Is it free or not??
I have seen signs outside pharmacies advertising free flu shots.

In B.C., influenza vaccines are provided free to people who are at high risk of serious illness from influenza (such as young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with certain medical conditions), those able to transmit or spread influenza to those at high risk, and people who provide essential community services.

All you have to do is say you will be visiting an elderly relative and you can get it free.

It's been free while my child was under 6 ... this was the first year we needed to pay ... we don't get the flu ... once a year fee is not going to put me off ...

You mention that the flu shot is free is Saskatchewan and Manitoba but when I checked they have a lower rate of vaccinations than BC so it is not only the cost that affects people's decision to receive the shot. Ontario's rate, although a little higherthan BC has fallen more than any other province over the last year. Here are the numbers https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/82- ... 18-eng.htm.

Yeah mid 30s, clean cut and friendly.

I was just trying to clarify the original letter to the editor as the one who wrote it seemed to have a lot of complaints they arent free.
