The BC NDP Political Arena.

Soft on top and full of hot air.

Since it near downtown, why not Vancouver Place Stadium or name it after a well liked former football player "Lui Passaglia".

Likely because they want someone to pay big bucks to be able to attach their name to the building, just as Prospera does here, until they stop and someone else pays the freight.

Free, non income generating, permanent names for such structures, are a thing of the past.

Thinking along that line knowing rogers is plastered on arena, then it makes sense for competition to have the other place so Telus Place Stadium.

Added: if only Ben Ginter was still around.... then call it Uncle Ben's beer Stadium. lol (instead of molson's)

On the other hand - from your linked article:

“Not every deal is the best deal for taxpayers. This one wasn’t,” Clark said. “The minster’s view and Treasury Board’s view, quite clearly, is that we can get a very good source of revenue on selling the inside advertising at BC Place.”

You really have been hiding under a rock. In 2012, Christy Clark of the BC Libs was our Premier. She would not be amused by you calling her "the dumbest SOB to ever run BC".

dontrump:

Easy question for you to answer:

Who cancelled the $40 million Telus naming deal and stuck us taxpayers with a $15.2 million dollar bill?

Christy Clark
