Damn pandemic caused no decision on staying with Daylight Savings year round.

Saturday night roll your clocks back 1 hour.

That makes sense and is totally excusable - isn't it? I mean with the pandemic and everything, we're all far too busy and distracted to do nothing at all with our clocks on November 1st. Maybe once this pandemic is behind us, the gov't will be able to focus some time and energy on devising a plan to do nothing with our clocks next fall. {SMH}

Man, trust the gov't to make a big deal out of doing nothing. Horgan... :swear:

If California, Oregon, and Washington have to agree to Daylight Saving Time all year before we do so then don't hold your breath:

I stand in solidarity with the Yukon, Chetwynd, Creston, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson and Fort St. John.

Dear Everyone,
After careful consideration of everything happening in the year 2020, and with a circumspect outlook to the future, I am serving notice I will not be joining the return to Pacific Standard Time. Please adjust any appointments and deadlines with me accordingly.

Obviously, my physician can disregard this notice and I'm sure it will work fine for both of us.

PS: It's not like we're all going to meet at the pub next Friday night at 7:00 pm anyways.

If not now, when?

Twice a year this comes up, my response is the same... it’s no longer necessary. Stick with one or the other.

So switch to year round DST and to hell with Washington, Oregon & California.

It'll happen eventually. But first the US has to get their election out of the way this year. And the change to a year-round time has to be done with California, Oregon, Washington, and probably Alaska agreeing to switch at the same time as BC. But there will be some Americans who will resist any change, believing that it's an evil socialist plot to change us into aliens.

It has to be decided by congress. It's on their desks.

That's exactly what I did this year. Stayed on DST, "Drip's Standard Time" and so far the only glitch I have to report is the increased commute from the coffee pot to the desk. Seems to take an hour longer than it used to. I'm sure there's a work around on the computer to fix that.

Problem with that is missing appointments like the Doctor or Dentist cause your time is off. Otherwise being retired I don't much care either. Dark = sleep...Light = nap.

Next weekend we switch to DST and because of the US Congress it would seem that what most people want, i.e. stay on one time for the whole year, is being thwarted.

Knowing California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia are dealing with health issues... I suspect time change issues are cooling on back burner.

In my opinion this is an excellent example of Canada needing to grow some stones, and do what Canadians want, as opposed to kowtowing to US wishes as happens all too often.

Who cares if Washington State doesn't make a time change, even if we are the next door trading partner? The worst that will happen if we do away with the time change, is that part of the year we will be an hour off from the US, something I think most intelligent businesses can adjust to, and for the other part of the year we'll be on the same time.

If Washington decides to jump off a cliff into the ocean, does that mean BC has to do the same? :135:

It's about business and has nothing to do with kowtowing to the US. We have already agreed to do it as long as Washington and California do. There is perceived savings when we are all on the same time zone.
