What ever happened to parents being in charge until you're 18?

It hasn't been the case for a very long time, and thankfully so. Otherwise parents would be free to do things like FGM, filicide, refuse life-saving treatments, sexual abuse, physically abuse, psychologically abuse, etc. their children. Personally I'm glad we no longer treat children like simple property and are held responsible for and to them

That sounds all well and good, but what happens if it's proven the father's concerns are justified?

We live in a system now, where never before has so much Ritalin been prescribed, yet often times it's for no more reason than teachers wanting an active child drugged to where they're docile. So basically a self serving situation, where the health of the child is secondary.

Then look at all the children in care and control of the Ministry for Children and Families, where one person made a fortune stealing from the vulnerable.

You seriously need to be careful, and give a bit more thought as to, just what exactly you're thankful for.
