RCMP fitness requirements?

RCMP fitness requirements?

https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/261148 ... -calls-911

Take a look at the picture in the posted Castanet news link. Third man from the left. OMG!! This guy could not catch a person on crutches. This is disgraceful and just could be the root of the slang monkier for police.
This guy has no need for the body armour that is about to burst under the strain. A bullet would unlikely reach any vital organ.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

I suspect recruitment numbers must be really low, one would think there would be a yearly physical requirement.

Good point. How in ell's name did he pass physical. Rather embarrassing really.

I've seen the same as a POC doing ambulance assist where the EMS male and female have about the same physique.

So out of the 4 officers in the OP link picture, which one would a someone fleeing crime scene have the best chance of getting away (on foot/running).

Doesn't matter, if caught, the courts will just let him go again. On the other hand, if someone was shooting, I know which one I would hide behind.

So police shouldn't do their job because of the outcome in the courts, interesting.

That's not what I said or implied and we both know it. Good try though. 2/10

I don't want it to sound like I am defending this officer but maybe he is an Auxiliary officer? He also has a beard, whatever that might mean.

Means he has a beard, RCMP changed its beard policy.

Wouldn't be the first time minimum physical standard requirements were sacrificed at the altar of "equality & inclusivity"

But it doesn't matter

He’s not auxiliary....and who knows, he could be a 20 year member. Pretty sure after a certain time frame, they no longer have to pass a physical challenge.

Good point. If he does not have a side arm on the right hip, likely an auxiliary cop.

Regardless, Personally thinking a bit of a stretch to have someone that large in an occupation where physical exertion may be called upon to save yourself, co-worker or the public.
