Nope no such thing as AUXILARY Police at this time. Sorry, he's a regular RCMP member, no excuses!

Oh....I understand and can empathize with your remarks. I went from 240# to 175#. It is impossible for me to pull the weeds out of my gardens, BUT, if a doughnut fell off my plate and hit the floor, I can scoop that baby up before the "5 second rule" runs out.

That officer could also have spent the last 15 years in the evidence lock-up, or surveillance, or cyber-crimes.

We don't know for sure, and I hope that he never sees this forum.

Possibly he should be given a desk job. I personally have not worked with anyone in his condition and sorry, he needs to be looked at. I'll bet even his doctor will say, knock some weight off.

There is just no excuse for a law officer to be in that kind of condition.

Allot of us do high stress jobs while ridding a desk all day.
You moderate your caloric intake and hit the gym 4-5 times a week for an hour....it is not rocket science.

You only get one corpse to sling around in this life.....best take care of it better than this guy.

Yeah that's one viewpoint, then there's the numerous examples I've encountered, where perfectly fit people died of a heart attack while out jogging.

When your number is up it's up and there's no bonus points for being a good looking corpse.

All orginizations are required to take a proactive approach when dealing with employees. I'm thinking bike squad.

No, it is not about cop hating. It is about fitness to perform the job that one is being paid very handsomely for. If he had a desk job......then that is where he should have been. Clearly, he was out in public with fellow members for support. If I were a member of the OP picture of four officers......I would not want that Timmies addict backing me up and as a taxpayer, I don't have any confidence he makes any situation that would require physical activity safe except for his ability to pull his firearm and shoot while he gasps for breath trying to shout "Stop....Police".

Whatever happened to job skills and physical condition required to hold a job? This guy made it through RCMP boot camp. Is that the only bar required to get a tenured job for as long as he breathes and can show up for start of shift?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I know off topic but our military also has a number of enlisted members( male and female) with similar profiles. Sad really.

RCMP members are notified to clean up their act - just a matter of time something gives.

Matter of time?? Seriously? He didn't gain that girth in 12 months. Sorry, but this is just another example of the "RCMP" club and it is unacceptable.
Countless jobs require a certain level of physical ability. This example would not get hired by any reasonable employer to even mow lawns. Yet he makes 70 to 100k a yr and a full pull pension after 20 yrs for seeing how far a kevlar vest can stretch!
Hate to quote Trump but......shameful.....just shameful.

Not certain what your point is ? I believe they stopped the auxiliary program after one was shot in Alberta. I further was told by a member they no longer have it.

No but he should be given the opportunity to lose it and there could be extenuating circumstances regarding his girth.

There's a good chance he's a shift supervisor or a specialist - say crime scene investigation, etc. They don't have the same physical requirements. Don't see what's the big deal is.
