Garden tour nets pot plants - Revelstoke..

What a joke.... " An off-duty RCMP officer and a visiting family member saw the posting for this event and decided to take advantage of the tour. "
I am sure he is wanting to be the officer in charge or climb the ladder for promotion !!!

Why in hell would he not observe the situation and remind the growers of the code in regard to growing and not in public to grab... etc... and do an honest thing and help the group 7th annual garden club.... ?
Oh well so is life ,,, in Revelstoke... !!

So they were only in violation of the law when they invited the public to tour their gardens during a garden tour.

That's what the RCMP expended time and money and effort for?

To seize the plants and where are the plants now?

Growing four plants for personal use is now legal. But it has to be done in a way no one will see. And having the public over for a gander of the gardens ensured someone saw. In my mind, they wanted them for themselves. Or were super jealous.

Like I said in another thread, what happened to "live and let live." I mean come on, this wasn't impinging on anyone.
Using cash is one of your few forms of privacy: use it or lose it. 1984 isn't the only Orwell novel that needs to to made fiction again.

To me it just says that the government changed the law just to suit and profit their big corporate friends.

Three cars and five officers - now that’s a wise use of resources, meanwhile carnage daily on the highways .

What a joke... someone should post the name of the officer... and shame him in the community for such of a joke.... he should be out on the number 1 highway slowing idiot drivers down and stopping all those accidents... shame on him... things could have been done in a civilized manner... not such a waste of taxpayers money.... !

^^I stand corrected, thanks. So the cops were concerned that 'the youth' may thieve the plants? The plants may in fact be hemp which would only provide CBD and if in fact they WERE sativa or indica, 'the youth' probably not know that buds should be properly harvested in late September/October and how to dry/cure the buds.

What a ridiculous and costly fuss for us taxpayers!!!

Opps forgot to mention they had their Red lights going... lmao..

One of the tenants at the house, whose first name is Elyse, was home for part of the search. She said that about five police officers in three different patrol cars were there, at least one of the cars with lights on.

Perhaps eager beaver boy wanted to impress the other 5 cars... and lead the pack... just to funny !

After having heard a CBC radio interview with the kingpin of this elaborate highly sophisticated marijuana outdoor grow facility, it truly saddens me to know that our RCMP stooped to a new low. Quick someone pat this detective and green team leader on the back. We need a a community award ceremony so we can all shake hands with, and assert some media attention to this brainiac. If there ever where to be a public tar and feather event, this officer needs to though it twice!

The lady interviewed felt truly violated. RCMP didn’t just take the plants from her yard, they searched her entire home! She’s very upset and rightfully so.
Someone needs to get slapped for this. Crime of the century possibly averted by cutting down plants that could have been stolen by youth. Wow, what ever happened to police discretion. A simple door knock or phone call as to the whoops by the home owner should have sufficed.
If they were medical plants it would have been completely legal. People take note next time your willing to give up more privacy, civil liberty in the name of security, for the greater good, disguised by greater evil!
I have a lot of opinions, just ask the wife. Some good, some bad, and others down right ugly!
But then, they are just MY opinions.

In the past few years we've seen many ads from the RCMP announcing that "We're hiring....". It is apparent that they've been scraping the bottom of the barrel for a few years now.

The comment that this guy should be out on the Trans Canada stopping speeders was right on.

Yes, when I read this last night I was thinking..
What a waste of resources ... what next ? Reviewing Google street View footage to find more potential Big Busts..
Be careful how you behave officers. .. Sgt Stadenko in the Cheech and Chong movies, was based on a bumbling B.C. cop.

Like already mentioned, this officer could be more effective sleeping in his patrol car on the side of HWY 1, slowing people down, doing some actual effective Police work..
I'd like to help You OUT,
Which way did You come in??
