It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

It looks like a sea wolf. Found on BC’s coastal area and Vancouver island. They are much smaller than a timber wolf or arctic wolf.
I have a lot of opinions, just ask the wife. Some good, some bad, and others down right ugly!
But then, they are just MY opinions.

Your guess is as good as mine, but I think it's a wolf. A wolf that happens to resemble a coyote.

Not the animal from the incident, Its a picture taken from stock files used to dress up an otherwise pointless article
Surprised it doesn't have pups along just to add sappiness

Sorry but no, it's not. We have Grey wolves in BC. As GF pointed out, a young female.

The paws on that coywolf in the picture, are still far smaller than in the first post, which shows a wolf.

The animal in the pic is not a yodi. Easy to tell at a glance by the gangly legs, snout...just the overall look of it.

I have never heard of a wolf attacking a human. A yodi, yes. Maybe people think it was a wolf that attacked them.
In AB, Sask, Man, they tend to be quite a bit larger than the ones here.
Some may view my above politically incorrect opinions as 'harsh' and may even be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing. Save the planet, spay or neuter your kids.

I don't see a Rabbit, or a Road Runner in the photo, so my guess is its a Wolf.

As someone that works in the north, I have seen some absolute monster sized Arctic Wolves, and some that are only the size of a large Husky. The more northern that they are the smaller they appear.
A friend of mine pointed out it most likely depends upon their food supply.
The more readily available the food, the bigger they get.
