Lets ban these ships from the coast.

I'm sure any of you that drive to the coast have seen the huge pile of pipes just west of the Hunter Creek scales. There's been a steady stream of trucks moving them in on a daily basis. Quite encouraging, though a few months ago I was still pessimistic about this ever starting up.
Maybe now, finally.
And it will be interesting to see the various types of protests that happen along the line, as I'm sure there will be plenty. Here's hoping the courts deal with the protestors harshly.
My only complaint about this pipeline is that industry should have been building it, with their own money. They were quite prepared to do just that.

As for cruise ships, I found Mayor Helps of Victoria to be somewhat hypocritical in her stance on the oil industry and the state of our environment.
Last winter she proclaimed a climate emergency and threatened to sue the oil producers in Alberta, as she deemed them responsible for climate change.
Then this spring she flew off to a cruise ship convention with the sole purpose of enticing more cruise ships to Victoria.
Wow, is this hypocracy or what?

The point is to use red herrings to troll others.

Gee Horgan and the green elf sure have been quiet on this announcement … what's up with that? And speaking of being quiet … where are all those Castaneter NDP supporters who claimed the world was coming to an end if this project moved forward. I'm still in concussion protocol from shaking my head so hard at the verbiage from this group. Maybe now I can finally heal. Get those shovels in the ground and fast. Let's get to work.

Aren't politics wonderful? It's all about the optics isn't it. And we as Canadians buy into it on a daily basis. :130:

Great for BC'ers, Albertans and Canadians in general. This project sure took a long and windy road to get this far. Hopefully they will move forward quickly from here on in.

Yes, we have to get the atmosphere to the point of no return where runaway climate change takes over and we turn the earth into Venus at about 700 degrees. There is no political will to save us. Only cheap and inadequate platitudes at going green. It's easy to say that climate change is a hoax, but isn't the change obvious?

To us realists, yes, it certainly is!! To the fossilists, not so much.

Where it's been deathly quiet is on The Tyee. B.C.'s very own version of Pravda. The Greens and NDPers haven't said boo.

Why can’t we accomplish both. The Liberal party has been pretty strong on green initiatives so far. With his approval and start up of work they are showing they are strong on the economy as well. It’s a terrific balance between the two. Most other parties would have been too one sided.

Moving oil by pipeline is also more environmentally friendly than by rail or trucks. We also still use enough oil in our lives that it is vital for the near future until other initiatives by the Liberals kick in, such as for green vehicles.
