Lotto insanity
I went to buy my usual one month/4wks (8 draws) worth of lottery this morning and was told I could only buy for one draw at a time!!!
Who thought of this. Now I have to back to a lotto retailer 8 times to buy my tickets. How is this policy going to keep people at home?? I know I can buy them on line but I do not like to do money transactions on line. I have heard that because people are not going out they are buying their tickets on line which has caused the site to lock up.
Anybody else think this policy is pure insanity??

I agree with you.... it's stupid.

Just burn your money.
Same results, and it's much quicker.

Buy or don't buy, just be fully aware it's not a guaranteed retirement plan. It's just wishful thinking.

Laugh when people say this. I personally know of 3 winners. Someone has to win.

I know what the odds are, but I would rather have one chance than no chance! Doesn't cost a lot, BC49 is still only $! a ticket.

Never hurts to dream. I have won $1000.00 twice and my daughter won a $1000.00 once, so it is possible just not often.

Re: Lotto insanity
We have our numbers that we've been playing for years and we get a mini dip for each draw. We were getting three months' worth at a time. Anyway, we've now switched over to a subscription which has its advantages. You got to Play Now and register. Then you can set your weekly limit of money to be spent, pick your numbers, and then select the "never miss a draw" option. Voila!

Someone does in fact wins, and a whole lot of losers have to lose money constantly for it.

Hey, we could start 'Socialist 6/49'. $3 per draw...everyone wins $3 every time they play. Nothing more, nothing less.

I heard this from my mom a few days ago, she told me she seen it some where on FB but couldn't find the article. I believe this has to be a vendor decision but you never know it could be BCLC since they have taken down all the coupons in the grocery stores since the outbreak.
I don't get what issue this causes by purchasing more than one draw for the same game?

Maybe everyone should send BCLC emails requesting their decision jamming their emails or just stop boycott buying tickets for one day. There have been a lot of stupid over active decisions made to curb keeping people from going out.

We support the decisions of our private-sector lottery retailers to reduce hours, close locations and/or implement proper physical-distancing protocols. Some lottery retailers have chosen to suspend their lottery operations temporarily, while others have decided to remain open in adherence to directions from the Provincial Health Officer. BCLC’s Retail Stores Group, our network of flagship kiosks and in-line stores dedicated to selling lottery products, have temporarily suspended business operations.
Effective March 24, 2020, BCLC suspended all lottery sales through Lotto Express at the grocery checkout lanes and on March 25, 2020, we modified our Lottery Advance Buy options out of an abundance of caution in the event that the evolving COVID-19 pandemic impacts lottery draws in the future. Specifically, during such a challenging time, BCLC doesn’t want players to use their money to purchase lottery tickets for future draws that could be impacted.

If you play the same numbers and purchase a ticket for multiple draws, all dates are printed at the top of the ticket. Saves making multiple trips to the store - just have to remember when it's time to purchase again.
