B.C.'s minimum wage to be increased to $16.75 per hour

Watch your burger meal now be $18 at the drive through.
Business will always pass the increased cost along, which in turn increases inflation.

Fallacious logic that raising minimum wage and in turn labor costs will
shrink the income to inflation ratio.
Business' will charge what the market can\will bear.

TIme to increase my invoices 9% as well :)

I knew this was coming. More and more restaurants and businesses will be closing.

Some of them deserve to close. The good ones will stay open.

Enough places looking for employees to have the ones who lose jobs to fill the gaps.

Will the increase in wages increase the quality of my burger & fries at the drive thru?

I doubt it......

The living wage, the rate that both parents must earn to support a family of four in BC, is twenty bucks an hour and up.

No, but you are going to see service cutbacks.

I am willing to wait a little longer if my fries are fresh and hot.

At this rate, the only restaurants that will stay alive will be the chains, where the food comes in packages and is reheated. I would rather go to a local eatery.

This is insane! Those making minimum wage are either teenagers or people who have made poor choices in life... So let's keep paying them more so everything can keep getting more and more expensive? Our government, both Provincially and Federally, is failing us, big time.

So stay home and cook for yourself. Where in the rule book does it say that people should work for less than it takes to live just so you can get a cheap meal ?

Right? If you can't afford to pay a living wage you can't afford to operate a business. Workers have bills to pay so they can service our needs. Suck it up Kelowna.

It's not 1985 anymore. We live in the present now. That economy doesn't exist.

I think it already is the reality. Steak used to be $20 and now it's $40+.

And they also want 40% tip and they roll the eyes anything else.
