They weren't criminally charged so jail time wouldn't be on the table. Both cases were handled by the provincial Law Society, like most provinces, and the Society decided on the punishment to be handed out.

What law(s) did they break? Both lawyers involved agreed to the penalties handed out for committing professional misconduct.
