Very good question . Assume the person to head the inquiry will need a level of relevant education, training and experience coupled with the ability to be objective, to be accepted, respected, and trusted by all. Don't think the mother of such an individual has been born yet.

What new information are you looking for or expecting from this inquiry that hasn't already been discussed.

Please tell us what you expect MJ48.

We know that the white man is to blame, so the inquiry is needed to figure out who the white man can clean up his act and fix this problem.

Why bother to have another inquiry when the native advocates are demanding that the Native people themselves NOT be held responsible for any of the problem.

Only an inquiry that completely lied about its findings could possible find the Native people faultless of any responsibility.

Those involved are obviously not interested in the truth that has been identified by the inquiries that have already been held, as noted in the previously posted information.

Liberals are going to resolve this issue by spending 4 Million dollars on a enquiry to find out just what has been learned by asking law enforcement why the problem exists. Nice, I like that!

Yup, the link is right here: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/pubs/mmaw-faapd-eng.pdf

Note that figure 4 is deceptive. The murder rate for aboriginal women is going down, but not as fast as for the general public. This means that their share of the total murders is going up even though in absolute terms they are going down.

that is not what a inquiry does im surprised you take that view . we know the facts are that the inquiry into the yvr death of the polish man exposed how tasers do not put out voltage the manufacture said and infact many of them put out to much voltage .since then i have not read a story where a taser in canada killed someone.

we also know now that a fair amount of police are biased against fn people the moment they find out the call they are on involves fn people , so any figures or reasons they put can not be trusted .

the inquiry will take a hard look at how the fn people themselves deal with women issues and it will take a look at how the non fn population deals with female fn violence issues and i believe the reconmendations that can be applied will be worth it if all people involved take them to heart .

To maryjane ...

As usual you have come up with a good theory that completely lacks reality.

The highlighted portion of your statement only goes to show the lack of understanding that many have when it comes to this issue.

I'd be interested in knowing what your expectations are of this enquiry?

Not sure how long you've lived but, try and tell someone of a given ethnic group how to deal with THEIR issues.... just won't work. Therefore, what is the purpose of having a expensive enquiry to conclude what is known?
