We need a major chance in immigration laws. If one has not been granted immigration status, if they are a non-permanent resident or a TFW then they are deported for criminal offences. First conviction, no second chances.

Why are they living in Canada and yet voting for a new homeland in India?

Rather than calling it religion, I see this as historical tribal & culture (Cult) conflicts ingrained over many centuries of continued conflicts, that will remain. Those fed up with that way of living moved aboard to places free of tribal conflict. Please keep Canada, your host country, free from your conflicts that you choose to leave behind.
I no longer rally for my birth country, but enjoy their historical culture customs & event with likewise friends and friends interested in my previous surroundings.

Will these millions of immigrants, refugees, legal, illegal bring with them their values, their hatreds, will they welcome Canada's values?

If they see how the left have trashed our country, will they join in or lift Canada out of it's left-wing hatred for patriotism.

Statues of famous Canadians torn down.
Heroes who built our country, cancelled.
Place names changed to appease a vocal political minority.
History being rewritten in order not to offend the weak.

How do these newcomers view Canada?

Much of this has happened in the west, BC, and in Ontario. But in the Maritimes? Not so much.

I'm in the Maritimes now and everywhere I go I see history. Statues of the founders of our country. Are they knocked down? People here won't allow that.

Canadian flags flying from flag poles in yards. How often do we see that in BC?

It was the British who came here and kicked out the French in the 1600, 1700 and 1800s. That's why we speak English and not French. Then they kicked out the Americans.

Maritimers are proud to be Canadians and they show it.

Military history is big here as well and not just the past. The other day we went through Amherst. The secondary highway there was closed for over half an hour while a memorial to those Canadian who died in Afghanistan was unveiled. No one complained. We shut our engine off and got out of the car and watched. Try that out west and the woke would be screaming.

So my thoughts come down to this, will our new immigrants fall into the woke trap of the left or rise above them?

Also, thanks for pointing out the differences between far East and West Coast’s behaviour when it comes down to displaying history for generations to come. Leave the statues alone! They were fashioned by artists to depict the heroes of the day and hopefully for years to come. They were erected not in “our time frame” but to celebrate achievements that were mightily important at that time and place.

Flying the Canadian flag on West Coast has unfortunately become a point of division … one we never thought we’d see. Some hoist it in love of country as it once was, others in defiance of what it has become now.

As to how our immigrants view the Flag is all up to them. Either it represents freedom, or it represents freedom to carry on the wars they supposedly left behind.
