CEOs at top charities earn top dollar
Research by CBC News found 20 senior executives earning more than $250,000 at registered charities based in Ontario.
Topping the list is Piers Handling, director and CEO of the Toronto International Film Festival, earning $352,260 in 2016.

This is one of the BIG reasons I am reluctant to donate and am very careful in my selections when I do.

Easier to give money or beer bottles or whatever to a local . Or in my case I used to give to a lady who was sponsoring a room at BC children's hospital. Personally I'd rather help some one like that . Or the wits end guy help him

I realize these are charities but for CEO position, I don't think they are that bad. Have to be wary of who you donate your money to.

To live in Toronto you are right . Costs a lot . These are in line with the jobs they perform I'm sure . Still looks like a lot of money

Just because it's charity doesn't mean people should be working for free there. Even reduced salaries won't cut it.
