Regretfully, that would prolly have happened, MJ...there's a lot of arses out there.

Wonderful thing is that now that Mr. Fox's heritage has come to light maybe a few of those boneheads

will pause for moment the next time they feel the inclination to make a racial slur or negative

comment about one Canada's First People's.

Hilarious how some would want to minimize First Nation's history in Canada. Why not go all the way back to "Lucy" in Africa then?

I will give credit where credit is due; congratulations to the Fox family for Terry being part native, must be where he got his running spirit from. He was, and is, part of a noble background.

The entire structure as it has developed bureaucratically is condoned racism, plain and simple.

Sincerely, a Canadian with First Nations heritage proudly refusing to seek any sort of 'status'.

I don't care what Terry Fox was other than he had grit, determination, and a massive heart.

So what. A lot of people in Canada have some First Nations Ancestry and don't even know it. I find the whole concept kind of stupid - we're all related anyway. If you go back far enough, all of our ancestors were from the same parts of Asia and Europe.
