The poster boy for 'why used car salespeople are respected more than politicians', is taking his fight to the supreme court.

You'll recall he took senate patronage (i.e. padding his expenses thus stealing from Canadian taxpayers) to previously unforeseen levels that could no longer be ignored. He brought a few other senators down with him, and effectively reigned in the 'gravy train' enjoyed by underworked, overpaid senators for many generations.

What a disgusting, pathetic pile of :cuss: he is.... :-X :-X :-X

News flash: Duffy wasn't a politician. He was a reporter. A mouthpiece for the Harper Conservatives, yes. But not a politician. Only appointed, never elected. He doesn't deserve a cent. Like most conservative leeches, he's looking to play the system to line his own pockets.

Senators are not politicians? Sorry Bob, I don’t buy that one.

In payment for their 649 winning plum patronage jobs, senators sell their souls to the PM or leader of whatever party they came from or supported. Thus if not previously elected as MP’s (or anything else...), they become politicians when they park their well-fed backsides in their new senate seats. They are not required to think. Indeed, that is frowned upon – all they must do is vote as instructed by their political bosses. Every single vote made by every Senator in Canadian history, was by its very nature, political. And for this, they are rewarded with bloated salaries, generous perks, expense accounts, and possibly the most lucrative, gold-plated pensions in Canada.

Duffy was actually a pretty good reporter in his earlier years. But the siren call of the Senate trough was considerably more powerful than his personal ethics and morals. So as you say, he became shameless shill for the Conservatives. For his sycophantish dedication, Stephen Harper eventually settled the bill with Duffy’s long coveted senate seat.

It would be easy to become cynical.

Supreme Court won’t hear Mike Duffy’s appeal

The poster boy for political patronage and wallowing deep in the public trough, is finally SOL about getting a final fat undeserved ransom payment from the public purse. :130:

There are countless stories about what a scumbag he is... my favourite is how he more-or-less caused a publication called "Frank" to go into bankruptcy when he sued them for accusing him of lying (which he'd done...) and poking fun at his prodigious girth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_(magazine)

Yet in his mind, it was perfectly okay to publicly refer to Elizabeth May as 'bucky the beaver'.

He is a deeply flawed excuse of a man on many, many levels...
