LOL!! It just keeps going and going with this government. Perhaps they're jinxed. Thankfully, no one cares enough about Canada to see this in the news, or even as news. Except Belgians of course. Hey, pass me a Stella, eh?

Maybe they weren't aware that the Germans lost the war?

I've been to Belgium several times, love it. Beautiful country side, wonderful cities and the beers and fries with curry mayonnaise are to die for

Perhaps the flag faux pas was intentional...you know...to prepare the Royals for meeting our Clown Prince.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Much like when the Canadian flag was hung upside down after the jays won two in a row, though disrespectful will be played as "an accident". It should be an accident someone gets fired over however, though not seemingly that bad it is just an ignorant negligent action by someone in a position that should simply know better.

This is government. This person won't be fired. They will probably be promoted.

Gerard Depardieu sure likes it. At least, he likes their tax rates anyway.

Not only was the flag wrong, but the Governor General used the wrong language to speak to the Royal Couple!
