Canadians big food wasters

Right. So you're telling me I throw away 800 lbs. of food per year? I don't think so. Where did this 'environmental group' come from? Looks like less food for more at restaurants though. Super!

The total amount of waste equates to roughly 800 lbs. per person - not that everyone throws that much out. Most will come from restaurants, fast food joints, etc.

I get that. So the headline should read 'Canadian Restaurants Big Food Wasters', thus avoiding the guilt trip.

What a Garbage fluff article.
This is my favorite part
So the biggest part of the waste is the part not counted in the waste.
Good work Canadian press
This is my favorite part
The commission says that from farm to table, almost 400 kilograms of food annually is wasted or lost per every Canadian.
The report says food thrown out by consumers accounts for the biggest part of that.
It also says wasted food creates 21 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from landfills.
The report doesn't address consumer food waste.
So the biggest part of the waste is the part not counted in the waste.

Just what constitues wasted food?
Are they counting corn cobs and husks? Cherry pits? Discarded fat from a roast?

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.
