Re: Sask. Bus Accident
Justice system on this case is pretty well set & done, what happens to this fellow once deported is not in our hands.
What I would like to see happening is very stiff penalties to the owner of trucking company. For 1 major reason to send message throughout trucking industry, current practices need to stop.
Driver safety & training is paramount & the bs of pushing drivers past the point of exhaustion needs to stop as well.
I'm not in the industry so any truckers want weigh in please do so, if I am off base on my comments. Please correct were changes are needed.

I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

then you are no better than the driver that killed a bunch of people. you have simply been lucky and should not be on the road in any way, shape, or form.oldtrucker wrote:

He didn't ignore the stop signs. One has to be alert enough to perceive something before one can choose to ignore it. He was looking right at the signs, but he didn't see them.

Re: Sask. Bus Accident
I suppose it was proven he doesn't have vision problems, reading problems etc, - something that could have prevented him from knowing what the signs actually said or meant? Of course that would be even more reason he shouldn't have been driving that truck but it might explain how he "didn't see" 5 (?) signs. Maybe he was so nervous behind he wheel he was just staring straight ahead and afraid to take his eyes off the road to read the signs....maybe he was so ill-trained on the truck he wasn't sure if he could get going again if he came to a complete stop - who knows...maybe he doesn't even know....dead tired and road fatigue....

What has been accomplished with all the traffic studies that have been done in BC other than a lot of talk ?
When those in 'power' think anybody can drive a truck as if there's nothing to it we won't see any change ?

Your opinion is irrelevant and not based on fact. Read up on the law.

Again the infractions I think were paperwork and your opinion is wrong based on the law.
