Ok so thats where the number comes from. That is super alarming. In such a small sample size. 40 percent teachers. Yikes. Online school sure seems like a better option.

Generalizing all teachers as high risk offenders is hot nonsense.

as much as jflem wants to get rid of all teachers, these statistics are misleading out of context.

as of 2014 there were 756,900 teachers in the country, meaning this result represents 0.005% of teachers.

NO, I am not suggesting that at all. I am suggesting that all professionally employed men that have to have interaction with children, not be allowed.

It's always a male that seems to commit this crime, maybe they should be not allowed to be in these positions. I don't agree with my own statement, as I am not socially inclined to have any attraction to younger females (or males). (I am a father of one of each).

I tend to disagree with you on this. If you consider why pedophiles tend to work with children it is obvious. A opportunity to seek victims. Like a person with a sweet tooth may opt to work in a bakery or a candy factory.

I feel they need to have a way to properly select teachers, if it takes using investigative tools such as a polygraph so be it. I know many of you will argue the method but just taking what you get is not working. I also feel anyone who is found to have crossed that line, their career should be ended!! They should also be publicly noted as a pedophile.

What the heck sort of question is this? Yes I'd be fine with it. I've volunteered in Kindergarten and grade 1 classes with male teachers and I didn't see any molestation occurring. I wish more males would teach the lower grades as the teaching styles can be quite different and provide more variety.
