Steve being Steve
Still hasn't figured out protocol. There is an etiquette that former PMs should follow. But then Steve never was big on etiquette. Does he still see himself as Canada's saviour? Probably.

Looks like he’s still in hiding

What an idiot.
Regardless of whether you like/love his past history, this is a horrible chess move. Period.
Donald Duck must be playing with himself in how he can spin this against Canada.
Who does he think he speaks for?
He's the reason the hairdo got elected. That's enough to send him into hiding. Stay there.

"etiquette" is being late, or using the wrong fork.
A 'visit' is to Disney.
Steve is telling Americans that Canadians understand and support punitive actions against Canada.
It's a dumb message.

Re: Steve being Steve
According to the OP article, I seems our Steve isn't making it clear about why he's going down there.
But I hope it's for us on NAFTA because he's a really great negotiator.
Just look at the job he did for the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Great logic and, “You don’t take no for an answer.”
He has pretty cool hair too.
But maybe not quite as cool as the American Steve who was also really great at logic, negotiating, and not taking no for an answer.
And he had a really long pipeline, er, lifeline . . ..

Maybe Donald invited him down. Then Donald will repeal all the tariffs, saying his visit with Harper made him see the light. And then he'll urge Canadians to rise up against evil Justin Trudeau and install Steve as leader for life.
Hey, it's far-fetched. But not that far-fetched. We're talking about Don and Steve here.

no the hairdo got elected because to many Canadians felt getting pot legalized was priority one and failed to notice that he is an idiot incapable of doing the job he applied for

The children have been sent to their rooms. Now the adults will take over, which is what Canada needs, desperately. Bravo to Prime Minister Harper for stepping up.

Do we have to let him back in? Can't he stay down there with others of his kind?

He won't want to stay. Too many shootings. He'd be spending his whole life hiding in closets.

Is it not bad enough that we inflict Bieber and Dion on them? No, forcing Harper on them would be unconscionable.
More seriously, why do we care? He's a man of no importance any more, so unless he is selling state secrets to the Donald, this should be a non-story. He's about as relevant as Hillary Clinton. If the Donald wants to buy what he is selling, more fool him.

Re: Steve being Steve
So this is really still the plan. Stephen Harper the boogie man is the plan to try to make Justin get a second term? Our PM breaks actual ethics rules again and again and again and most of you just shrug it off, but Harper has a meeting and you're all worked up?
As much as I'm not a fan of the man with a lego figurine haircut this is just grasping at straws.
The meeting is unclear? To who? It really looks to myself it's two people who have talked in the past getting together to talk about the future as they both have leaders of their country that are buffoons.
