I do believe that credit cards and debit cards are part of the problem. Fewer and fewer people use cash and turn to their cards. This is fine but then you really have to keep tack of your spending. If you have $300.00 in your pocket and spend it you realize it immediately but it is easy to chip away $300.00 on a card without realizing it. The credit card slowly climbs and suddenly you are behind the eight ball. It can be difficult to come back. If you have trouble with your spending or taking the time to keep track of it, use cash, it will put up red flags immediately.
