Yes, we are. Fortunately, we have a chance to punt him in 2019 and get someone in place that has the maturity to deal appropriately with international diplomacy. Someone with the foresight to tell Meng on the QT to stay the hell home when given a prime chance to do so.

I believe JT needs to issue an order to all Canadians to get the hell out of China, now. China follows no rules, no political rules, no international rules and no rules for justice. :swear:

Canadian government should put a ban on all Chinese students flying back here after Christmas holidays.
Yes we take a tuition hit but sunny ways.
I always thought that it would be fun to take a car from UBCO and drive the *bleep* out of it over the holidays and then put it back in the parking lot before the international student comes back.

Extradition Treaty with the US....not much more you can say, the US has to un-request the order. That's the agreement.

idk, With the tensions that had already existed with China arresting her was throwing gas on the fire. Since JT knew about it days before she boarded the plane to Canada I'd have just tipped her and told her she'd be arrested if she landed in Canada.

She's not too smart if she didn't figure that out on her own.

Probably because the Chinese have no history of democracy, they just can't figure out why Justin doesn't get on the phone to the judge and tell him to release Meng. Or else. And we actually have some posters on here wishing that Canada didn't have an extradition treaty with the US. ("Just tell the US to arrest her themselves"). Try to imagine the mess if we did away with the extradition treaty.

We appoint judges to determine if a law has been broken, or if another country has a case against a national of a third country. Our politicians have no business interfering with a judge. If we allowed that, can you imagine if a friend of a government official had a case against them? And a politician decided to give the judge a call to help an old friend. Interfering with a judge is completely against the law. Meng's case will be heard in February. If this was the other way around, you can be sure the judge would have been visited already and had his mind made up for him. China only recognizes power. Canada recognizes the rule of law.
