I wonder if these energy companies are cutting corporate bonuses this year?

Say thank you to "sticky fingers Horgan", the village idiot George Heyman, and the weasel Weaver.

Just shows you what happens when the BC NDP/LEAP steal power - everything goes futz.

Well done Trudeau, that is now over 6 billion dollars of money that does not belong too you. You have sold Canada to mega millionaires that will be the ones that benefit. You are just like Trump and both of you are jumped up little stark's. It is unfortunate that you ever got in with the promise that DOPE will get this country out of impending recession well done spoil't boy.

Nope. It is the dopes that follow the little green* book of propaganda - funded by US oil&gas interests that made this happen.

Sohi says the money, largely in the form of commercial loans, is available immediately.

So the oil companies can get a loan to help them through hard times. A loan is not a bail out now is it.

Nope, quite different.
As well, it stops the vultures from profiting from the hard times by picking apart companies struggling.
Is it a master plan for foreign companies to take over more Canadian resources? Maybe.

It would make eminent sense to use the 1.6 "bailout" to build an effing refinery!

It's 100% Trudeau's fault. He cancelled NGP and EE and took TMX away from a company that actually builds pipelines. Going on 4 years, and not an inch of pipeline built under Trudeau. Three strikes, he's OUT.

Another Trudeau failure. People want jobs, not welfare. Build That Pipe!

BNN/Bloomberg:

There hasn’t been much room for misinterpreting reaction to the federal government’s $1.6-billion support package for Canada’s beleaguered oil sector. From industry analysts, a chief executive, a former senior TransCanada official, the premier of Alberta, and (overwhelming) feedback to yesterday’s BNNBloomberg.ca poll — we heard it all on BNN Bloomberg and, simply put, stakeholders aren’t satisfied. So what’s the fallout? Maybe we’ll get a sampling today at a rally expected to take place in Nisku, Alberta.

What form of aid is most needed for Canada’s energy sector?

Funding for job support 123 3%

Loans and financial backing for companies 83 2%

New pipeline capacity 4355 95%

Total Results: 4561

Essentially, the Liberals are returning Alberta's transfer payments for a year. How nice of them.

Man, this was one mother of a rally. “Twenty-two kilometres end to end.” A hundred trucks came from my hometown, Drayton Valley. Sorry, but proud of the traffic tie-up as they made their way home west of the city.

While I am 1000% on their side and make my living in the oil and gas sector, I don’t think delaying traffic on one of Edmonton’s busiest roads was the best move. *bleep* people off to get them on your side seems counter productive. Heard on the news this AM there was a few accidents and even a woman that gave birth on the side of the road because they couldn’t get through. They need this convoy to circle parliament hill to get some attention.

I agree, but what can you expect from a bunch of dumb rednecks who think better when they're actually on the job and getting paid?
